Starting Mainly with Picking Operations
For a while after joining, the focus will be on picking operations.
- Picking automobile parts from shelves while checking shipping instructions or handheld terminals
- Verifying part numbers and quantities, and sorting products by shipping destination
- Loading items onto shipping boxes or pallets, labeling, and performing simple inspections
Since you will start with a ratio of 80% picking and 20% forklift operation, it is a safe start for those who “want to get used to the warehouse flow before focusing on the lift.”
Forklift task ratio increases as you gain experience
Once you become accustomed to the workflow, you will gradually increase the ratio of forklift operations.
