Job Description
Main Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for cutting “insulation cotton” to wrap around connection points of pipes carrying gas and steam. You’ll handle important materials used in ship engines and piping sections.
Specifically, you’ll perform the following tasks:
- Spread insulation cotton fabric (approximately 3cm thick) to about A4 size
- Cut into “U-shape” as instructed using scissors
- Verify that specified size and shape are achieved
- Organize work table while preparing next material
The work itself is very simple, centered on “cutting into specified shapes using scissors.” There’s almost no complicated machinery operation. Since you’ll initially work alongside senior staff, it’s fine to gradually learn the procedures.
Each piece of insulation becomes an important part supporting ship safety and performance. While not flashy work, thinking that “things I made with my own hands are active somewhere on the world’s oceans” gives a quiet sense of satisfaction.
Daily Workflow (Sample)
A rough daily flow looks like this:
- Arrival & change (change into work clothes at locker)
- Morning meeting (share daily work content and precautions)
- Work A (insulation cotton cutting work)
- Break
- Work A (steadily proceed with work at same station)
Basically a style of focused work at the same station. Once you get accustomed to the procedures, you can spend the day at a good rhythm.
Ideal Candidates
Perfect for those who:
- Are skilled at earnestly and steadily engaging with tasks
- Can carefully continue simple tasks at the same pace
- Enjoy working while following established rules and procedures
- Are interested in work using their hands
Those with manufacturing or factory work experience are welcome, of course, as are those without experience. No special qualifications or experience required, so if you have the desire to “try a new job,” please consult with us.
